This book is part of the IQRA’ International Educational Foundation’s Calligraphy series. This book is a combined effort of Bushra Yasmin Ghazi and Muhammad Osman Ahmad Hamzah.
Bushra Ghazi has studied Arabic and Islamic Studies at Bryn Mawr – Haverford Colleges, the University of Chicago, Duke University, King Abdul Aziz University and American University in Cairo.
Mr Hamzah is a traditional master calligrapher of Sudan. He completed his Diploma in Fine Arts with specialization in calligraphy from Khartoum’s famous institute of Fine Arts. He has a wide range of experience in working with government departments and advertising agencies in Sudan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He has calligraphed other works and has worked with the IQRA’ USA team in the spirit of da’wah.
The content is grouped into the following three parts:
- Instructions on what specialized tools the students will need and how to use them
- Introduction to the alphabet and the strokes used to write it in the selected Arabic script
- How to combine these letters in a running script
