First Steps in Arabic Grammar is a grammar manual textbook, written and field tested by two South African professors of Arabic. The present edition is a thoroughly revised and expanded version by the late scholar and educator of Arabic Language, Mr Fadel Abdallah.
This book is divided into 27 relatively short lessons. Each lesson is introduced through model sentences, followed by an explanation of the focal point of grammar, and then the rule is stated in a summary format which is easy to remember.
A section of each lesson highlights a selected vocabulary used in each lesson along with its English meaning. Further focused drills provide the learners with a practical way to reinforce the rules learned and acquire a higher level of competency. The book ends with several sections of exercises to reinforce what has been learned.
